Religion
The dominant religion in Ukraine is Eastern Orthodox Christianity, which is currently split between three Church bodies; the distant second is the Eastern Rite Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, which practices the same liturgical and spiritual tradition as Eastern Orthodoxy, but is in communion with the See of Peter and recognizes the primacy of the Pope as head of the Church. There are also smaller groups of Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Hindu (Iskcon) and Muslim faithful. In last years the Protestant Communities are growing up in East regions.
As of January 1, 2006, twenty-nine Krishna Consciousness communities were registered.
